Privacy Policy
The protection of your personal data during processing is an important concern for us. We want you to feel secure when visiting our websites. Below, we explain which information we collect during your visit to our websites and how it is used by the Mark Group.
Personal Data
In general, it is not necessary for you to provide personal data in order to use our website. However, to fully utilize our offerings, we may need your personal data. “Personal data” refers to any information related to the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, your real name, address, phone number, and date of birth. It also includes information that does not directly reveal your actual identity but can be linked to you, such as your favorite websites, the number of users on a page, or your IP address. Therefore, personal data will only be collected, used, and passed on by us if this is legally permitted, necessary for the use of one of our offers, or if you consent to the data collection.
Collection and Processing of Personal Data
When you visit our websites, our web servers temporarily store the connection data of the requesting computer (IP address), the websites you visit on our site, the date and duration of your visit, the identifiers of the browser and operating system used (so-called “User Agent”), and the website from which you visit us (so-called “Referrer”). This data is evaluated by us for statistical purposes. It is aggregated, and no tracking of individual users takes place. Furthermore, additional personal details such as your name, address, phone number, or email address are not collected unless you voluntarily provide them, e.g., as part of an application, an inquiry via the contact form, or when subscribing to a newsletter.
If you prefer not to provide certain data (e.g., in an application) electronically, you are free to contact us by post at the address specified in the imprint.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Data
We use your personal data to fulfill your wishes and requirements, typically for processing the contract you entered into with us, answering your inquiries, processing your job application, or sending you the newsletter to which you have subscribed. Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties if this is necessary for the fulfillment of the contract, if you have expressly consented to it, or if legal regulations permit such transfer. If the provision of a service or answering an inquiry requires the transmission of personal data to an external service provider, we ensure through appropriate technical and organizational measures that the legal data protection regulations are complied with. We also obligate our external service providers to comply with the relevant data protection laws, treat the data confidentially, and delete the personal data as soon as it is no longer required.
Applications
By submitting your application, you agree that your data will be stored and used for the application process. You also agree that we may keep your data beyond the current application phase for potential use in future recruitment procedures. If you do not wish this, please let us know in the online application form, either in the “Comments” field or via email/letter. You also agree that your data may be used by all companies of the Mark Group. If you do not wish this, please inform us in the “Comments” field which company your application should only be considered for, or send us an email/letter.
Additionally, we may process publicly available professional information about you, such as profiles on professional social media networks.
Newsletter
If you wish to receive one of our newsletters, we need a valid email address from you and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the given email address and consent to receiving the newsletter. No additional data is collected. This data is only used for sending the newsletters and will not be shared with third parties. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we also store your IP address and the time/date of your subscription. This is done solely to provide proof in case a third party misuses your email address and subscribes to the newsletter without your knowledge. You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. You can unsubscribe via a link in the newsletters themselves or by contacting us using the provided contact details.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” text files stored on your computer that allow for an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, we have extended Google Analytics on this website with the “anonymizeIP” code. This ensures that your IP address is shortened by Google within EU member states or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activities, and provide additional services related to website usage and internet use. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings; however, please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all features of this website to their full extent.
You can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, and the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for mobile devices, you can click the following link to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data in the future. An opt-out cookie will be set, which prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and for our website, and it will be saved on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you must set the opt-out cookie again. We also use Google Analytics to evaluate data from DoubleClick cookies and AdWords for statistical purposes. If you do not wish this, you can deactivate it via the ad settings manager http://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/?hl=en. For more information about the terms of use and privacy, please visit http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/en.html or https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/.
Social Bookmarks
Our website integrates so-called social bookmarks (e.g., YouTube, etc.). Social bookmarks are internet bookmarks that users of such services can use to collect links and news. These are embedded on our website solely as links to the respective services. It is only after clicking the embedded graphic that you are redirected to the page of the respective provider, meaning that user information is transferred to the respective provider only at that point. For information on how your personal data is handled when using these websites with social bookmarks, please refer to the following privacy policies. The use of the services themselves is governed solely by the privacy policies of the respective providers outside of our offering.
YouTube Plugins (Videos)
This website uses plugins from YouTube.de/YouTube.com, which is operated by YouTube, LLC, Cherry Ave., USA (“YouTube”). When you visit one of our pages equipped with this button, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established, and the plugin is displayed by notifying your browser on the website. We therefore have no control over the extent of the data that YouTube collects with the button and inform you based on our current knowledge: By visiting the page with the plugin, information about which of our websites you have visited is transmitted to the YouTube server. If you are logged in as a member on YouTube, YouTube assigns this information to your personal user account on the platform. When using the plugin’s features, such as clicking/play buttons for videos or submitting comments, this information is associated with your YouTube user account, which you can prevent by logging out of YouTube before using the plugin. For more information on the collection and use of data by the platform or plugins, please refer to YouTube’s privacy policy at www.youtube.com.
Use of Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies (collectively referred to as “cookies”) to recognize user preferences and optimize our websites. Cookies are small files stored on your device. They can be used to detect whether your device has already communicated with our pages. This allows us to tailor the content of our websites to your needs and improve our services for you. We only identify the cookie on your device. Personal data may be stored in cookies if technically necessary, for example, to enable secure login.
Using our services is also possible without cookies. You can disable the storage of cookies in your browser, restrict it to specific websites, or set your browser (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc.) to notify you when a cookie is sent. You can also delete cookies from your device at any time. Please note that this may result in a limited display of the site and reduced user guidance.
Security
We have taken the necessary technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from loss and misuse. Your data is stored in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to the public. If you want to contact us by email, please note that confidentiality of the transmitted information cannot be guaranteed. The content of emails may be accessed by third parties. Therefore, we recommend that you send us confidential information only by post.

For legal and/or organizational reasons, changes or adjustments to our privacy policy may be necessary from time to time. Please refer to the most current version of our privacy policy, which you can access by clicking the respective link displayed during the cookie inquiry. Changes apply only to future personal data collection. The protection of data collected and stored by us before the change is not affected.
